BTN
Button — the best position at the table, acts last postflop on every street
Definition
The Button (BTN) is the most advantageous position in Texas Hold'em poker. The player on the BTN is the designated dealer and acts last postflop on every street — flop, turn and river — which gives them maximum informational advantage. Being IP (In Position) on all remaining players after the preflop, the BTN can fully exploit the information given by opponents' actions before making their decision. This position allows a very wide opening range (~45% in 6-max Cash Game) because the downsides of a marginal hand are offset by the permanent advantage of position. The BTN is also the best position for stealing blinds: being the last to act preflop, it can open-raise wide when everyone before has folded, only needing to convince the SB and BB to fold their hands.
In 6-max Cash Game, the BTN opens with about 45% of hands according to standard GTO. Against UTG (~15%), the difference directly reflects the positional advantage. In heads-up Spin & Go, the BTN push/folds with even wider ranges.
